Dr. Osama completed his primary medical qualification at Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2003, then he pursued his higher Specialization in General Surgery from the same university with his training based at King Abdullah University Hospital – Jordan. Thereafter, he had Further Fellowship training in Laparoscopic and colorectal surgery in the United Kingdom during the period 2009-2012. He is a member of the Royal college of surgeons – United Kingdom, and holds the Jordanian board of general surgery. Dr. Osama worked as a general, laparoscopic & colorectal surgeon in one of the largest hospitals in Amman – Jordan, for many years and was the program director for general surgery training for doctors approved by Jordan medical council and a board examiner. During his career, he performed a large number of surgical procedures including basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures.
Laparoscopic Antireflux Surgery (also known as fundoplication) is the standard surgical method of treating gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Reflux disease is the result of acid refluxing from the stomach back up into the oesophagus. This causes inflammation and pain (heartburn).
A hernia occurs when fatty tissue or an organ pushes through a weak place in the surrounding connective tissue or muscle wall. Hernias usually don’t get better on their own. They tend to get bigger.
