What is a Fibroid?<\/h2>\nA fibroid is a benign tumor on the uterus. It is made up of muscle and connective tissue and grows in response to increased estrogen levels. Fibroids can vary in size, but most are less than 10 centimeters in diameter. A woman with a fibroid may experience heavy menstrual periods, pelvic pain, or pressure on the bladder or rectum.\n

Is There a Link Between Fibroids and an Unsuccessful Pregnancy?<\/h2>\nFibroids are not a life-threatening condition, but they can cause some discomfort. Women of reproductive age who have fibroids are more likely to experience pregnancy complications<\/a> such as miscarriage, preterm birth, and stillbirth.\n

\nIt is difficult to say definitively that there is a link between fibroids and an unsuccessful pregnancy because the studies conducted on this topic were all retrospective in nature. This means that the researchers looked back at old data to see if there was a correlation between fibroid growth and miscarriage rates.\n

What is the Link Between Fibroids And Endometriosis?<\/h2>\nFibroids and endometriosis<\/a> are two different types of female reproductive health conditions. Fibroids are benign tumors that grow on the wall of the uterus. Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of it, typically on other organs in the pelvic area.\n

\nBoth fibroids and endometriosis can cause symptoms such as heavy periods, pain during sex, pressure or cramping in your lower belly, and pain during bowel movements. Fibroids can also cause heavy bleeding after sex or during your period, and they may grow very large over time.\n

\nEndometrial tissue outside the uterus can lead to severe menstrual cramps, painful urination during your period or when you\u2019re not menstruating due to endometrial tissue growing on your bladder or urethra (the tube from which you urinate), urinary tract infections<\/a> (UTIs), kidney stones<\/a>, and chronic pelvic pain<\/a> (CPP).\n\n

Treating Fibroids with Hormones<\/h2>\nwoman to woman, but most women experience heavy menstrual bleeding and pain during their periods. Treatment for fibroids usually includes a combination of hormonal therapy and surgical interventions.
