Provides care to full spectrum of newborn infants as extremely preterm infants form 24 weeks gestation and 500 grams weight up to term or near-term infants with critical conditions who need management and support till maturation and discharge,
Care of critical newborns who need therapeutic hypothermia ( total body cooling).
Care of critical newborns who need management for pulmonary hypertension with availability of pediatric cardiologist and required equipment’s 24/7.
Care of newborns who need advanced mechanical ventilation and respiratory support, including HFOV
NICU- SGHD provides:
Care of all newborn infants.
Care of newborns who need phototherapy for neonatal jaundice with availability of intensive phototherapy (photo capsule, submarine )
Proper medical care before, during, and after delivery for newborn infant.
Skin to skin – Cangaro care, encouraging breastfeeding with lactation consultation, and having a private breastfeeding room at the unit.
Continuous monitoring of newborn vital signs and general condition.
All required newborn screening, including hearing screening and blood newborn screening.
NICU-SGHD Multi- disciplinary Team Approach:
Is supported by all required subspecialties 24/7 as Pediatric surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology etc.
As we are capable of postsurgical care after pediatric surgery intervention if required.
