Dr. Marilyn Karam is a highly accomplished consultant Allergist and Clinical Immunologist, certified by the American Board in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, as well as Internal Medicine. She provides comprehensive care to both adult and pediatric patients. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Sciences degree and Doctor of Medicine from the esteemed American University of Beirut (AUB). Following her residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan, USA, she pursued a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
After completing her training, she joined AUB as an Assistant Professor and practiced there for 6 years before relocating to Dubai, where she served as a consultant allergist immunologist at American Hospital of Dubai.
Dr. Karam is also deeply committed to medical education. As the IM Clerkship Coordinator at AUB and director of Allergy Immunology electives and courses, she imparts knowledge to medical students and residents, shaping the future generation of healthcare professionals.
Her passion for research is evident through several peer-reviewed articles, reflecting her dedication to advancing medical science and improving patient care. Additionally, Dr. Karam’s adept strategic planning and interest in quality improvement initiatives were demonstrated during her tenure as the Medical Director of IM Specialty Clinics at AUB and Outpatient Quality Improvement
Director from 2017 to 2021, where she actively drove positive change and enhanced patient outcomes. In conclusion, Dr. Karam’s remarkable qualifications, dedication to excellence and
